What’s your artist name?
Tell us about how your name came about?
We wanted a name that would draw attention something that would catch the eye. After writing the first couple songs and seeing how the lyrics were about unforgivable traits of human actions we decided to go with the name The Unforgiven and from there it kind of just stuck.
For those of you who haven’t heard of you, tell us about yourself!
We are the duo rap metal group The Unforgiven based out of the Seattle area. Members are Nivek and Randum45 we bring a diverse and unique sound to the table that pushes limits and raises the bar for ourselves.
What can we expect from your music?
When listening to our music you can expect a high level of energy behind every song we put out. From hypnotizing singing and powerful screams to intricate and unique lyrics to catchy hooks. Every song is like a story leaving you wanting more and more.
What was your introduction to the underground scene?
So a few weeks before The Unforgiven was even thought of back in March
we did a show together at a venue in Seattle called The Substation under our solo set’s where we shared stage time. After the show people came up to us and were asking if we were a group because of how well we performed together. A couple days later we discussed doing a song together to see how we would mesh once the song was done we decided to step it up and from there we formed The Unforgiven. After a couple months writing new material and finding our sound we shot our first video for our song Wasteland which opened up many doors for us.
What was your first song and in your opinion was it a success or failure?
Our first song we wrote and recorded was called Vexation. The song lead us to find our camera guy King Zabb who made a AMV (Animated Music Video)for the song which grabbed the attention of promoters in the Metal and Hip Hop community wanting to book us for feature shows as it was diverse in genre styles. So in a sense you can say the song was a success.
So what kind of music do you listen to in your everyday life?
Randum45: Metal, Punk , classic rock , Rap , Hip Hop , Dub Step , Meditational music.
Nivek : Thrash Metal , Trap Metal , Classic rock , Rap , Boom Bap East coast , Smooth Jazz
Where do you find your artistic inspiration?
Randum45: Pretty much anything but mostly other artist that have a strong cadence.
Nivek: I get my inspiration from current events to the mood I’m feeling in the moment. But my biggest inspiration is Peoples actions and motives as well as how the human behavior is and how the mind works that’s what really gets me going.
What do you do or listen to, to hype you up?
Truth be told what hypes us up the most is Each other. Before every show we’ve done to get that rush of excitement we push each other around and say things that get us going to get the blood flowing. But to answer the question who do we listen to to get hyped up is US , Korn , Godsmack , Slayer and Suicide Boys.
Do you have any other hobbies outside of music?
Together we like to explore the unknown like the paranormal outside of music. Nivek likes to cook and collect art. Randum45 likes to play video games and study up on extraterrestrial life and science.
Do you have anyone that you consider your mentor? How has their help or advice help shape you?
Ourselves we push each other to the next level and we help each other build and grow as a group to make our music stronger. If one us falls the other is there to pick the other up.
What is one experience in life that, without it, you wouldn’t be the artist you are today?
Randum45: My experience at Harp City Records in Florida. All The Days And hours I’ve spent perfecting my style.
Nivek: Performing on stage for the very first time experiencing the rush and the adrenaline that comes with it and having that stage presence to make people sucked in and pay attention to your art.
What haven’t you attempted yet that you hope to?
To play in front of 5,000 people or more one of these days.
Did you have a moment yet that you realized, I can never give up on this?
The day that we established The Unforgiven showed us our true potential and how the group in itself brought out the best in us pushing to new limits and heights and beyond. There is no telling how far we can go because it’s endless. From solo to duo we have evolved into something that is growing and we can’t stop and we won’t stop.
Is there anyone in the future you aim to work with?
In the feature it would be a blessing and a honor to work with Jonathan Davis of Korn , Tech N9ne , Ghostemane or Jamie Madrox
